Printer-Port Modification
Components and cabling required to enable the EPE Microlab parallel printer port.

To make the printer port work, add the following components as shown in the photograph:
| Position | Component |
|---|---|
| IC13 | 74HCT244 |
| R10 | 10k resistor |
| R15, R20 | Wire links |
| T1 | 2N7000 |
Important: The 2N7000 at T1 is shown the wrong way round on the PCB.
The printer connector, CON2, is a 26-way straight header similar to CON1. Because it is close to two 100 nF capacitors, the connector must not have retaining clips.
The printer lead is the type used by the BBC Micro, not the type used by IBM PCs. The original page listed Farnell Components order codes 178-105 (1.2 m), 176-064 (2 m) and 230-960 (3 m); these historic order codes may no longer be current.
Routines for the printer port are included in Monitor Firmware Version 1.10. The software downloads include the source code.
