Born in Liverpool and brought up in Runcorn.  Went to University in Hull to study Electronic and Communications Engineering and got stuck there for a good few years afterwards.  Hobbies have included rock climbing and horse riding.  Current ones include walking, photography and music (recently rediscovered).
